Spanish Level
It is not mandatory that you take a Spanish course to participate in our volunteer abroad projects, but to make the most of your stay in Mexico, it is important that you can communicate with the people you will be interacting with. We will organize a phone interview with you to be able to give you feedback and let you know if you have the Spanish level required by our host organizations. The minimum Spanish level will also depend on the characteristics of the volunteer placement you wish to get.
Arriving to Mexico
On your first Monday in Merida, ECORA VOLUNTEER Mexico will welcome you with an orientation talk. You will also receive a welcome folder containing useful information about Mexico and Merida. Our staff will also clarify all doubts, concerns, and questions you may have upon arrival about your volunteer abroad program.
On this first meeting the Volunteer Abroad Program Coordinator will inform you of your role and the tasks you will be completing in the host organization, as well as the date of your first meeting with your host organization's tutors, to which you will go with your ECORA VOLUNTEER Mexico tutor.
