Terms and conditions

By signing the registration form I understand and agree to the following guarantees, terms and conditions. I understand they will apply when enrolling in any of ECORA Language Institute and Cultural Center programs or services.

Guarantees

ECORA Language Institute and Cultural Center is a full private language-travel educational enterprise and accredited center of the Mexican Ministry of Tourism in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. We are currently the only Spanish Immersion Institute in Merida which has received the certificate to the high quality of our services in Merida, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.
We guarantee that all programs, accommodations, and complementary services described on this website 2007 are true (any and all special arrangements and/or agreements shall be set in writing by ECORA institute).
The personnel in charge of airport pick-up and transportation are completely familiar with the area and know exactly where the students must go.
ECORA Institute guarantees a maximum of five students per classroom. It also guarantees that classrooms will have comfortable chairs and tables as well as A/C.

Terms and Conditions

1.	The Spanish Immersion Program Prices published in this website do not include the air fare from your home city to Merida nor  books, snacks, food in restaurants, night club covers, souvenirs, entrance fees to museums, archeological sites, phone calls, beers or alcohol unless otherwise specified.

2.	It will be the student responsibility to arrange flight or bus transportation to Merida Mexico. However ECORA Language institute & Cultural Center can suggest web pages and phone numbers to find the best air fares available. Please email or call if you need assistance.

3.	Free airport pick up will only apply when booking for at least two weeks of Spanish Immersion Program and family homestay through ECORA institute. Otherwise it will cost $10 USD.

4.	Free online extra practice will be available for registered students on one-one programs only after they have registered and paid in advance their tuition. Students choosing to pay week by week will not have this extra service included. Optional extra $16 USD per week if you want this service. Request a free sample online program if interested.

5.	About discounts: Special Promotions will only be valid for the dates that have been specified in our ads and website. For ESL, Spanish or Bilingual teacher discounts, a letter from employer is required. For retired person discounts, the student must be 58 years old and over. ECORA Language institute & Cultural Center will only honor one discount per student. For family discounts, neighbors, neighbors children, in laws, aunts, uncles and cousins are not considered. For group discounts the participants must have the same arrival and departure dates and enroll for family homestay housing along with classes. For any other discount please contact us.

6.	Pricing is available in USD dollars and can vary slightly with currency fluctuations. The prices shown in this webpage include all accommodation, hotel and local taxes where applicable including IVA tax in Mexico.

7.	Travel/Medical Insurance is strongly advised for all minors, student travelers and adults. Please don't take changes with your finances, health and well-being. Vaccinations or inoculations are the student responsibility. In case of illness ECORA Language institute & Cultural Center will direct students to a physician and/or hospital. It will be the student responsibility to bring a major credit card to pay for unexpected expenses.

8.	Documentation for travel is entirely the responsibility of the student. We will not extend refunds for students who claim they failed to obtain or lost/misplaced travel documents such as plane tickets, excursion tickets, passports, visas, work permits, entry visas or other documents.

9.	We can only guarantee the results offered in our advertising "bilingual in 4 months" when students enroll in Full Spanish Immersion Courses with at least four hours of classes per day or more.

10.	For best results when studying with our Spanish Immersion methodology we encourage students to stay with local host families. Only the best host families are selected to participate with ECORA Language institute & Cultural Center Spanish Programs. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the Spanish Language and local culture first hand.
 
11.	 ECORA Language institute & Cultural Center will do its very best in order to find the best host family for each student according to the his/her needs. It will also make sure that the hosts share similar interests and age whenever possible. If a student feels the host family situation is not suitable, ECORA institute liability is limited to finding the student a more suitable situation.

12.	Family homestay includes three delicious home made meals, safe water for drinking, clean sheets and towels in a private or shared room with a private or shared bathroom. Any dietarian needs will be met by the host family. The host family will pick up the student from the airport (only when requested by the student). The host family will help the student to arrive to school on the first day and will teach the student how to find his way around Merida by him/herself either on foot or by bus. Laundry is not included but hosts will be happy to direct you to the nearest Laundromat.

13.	Alternative Accommodation outside a host family's home is available. The charge will be between $22.00 to $ 40.00 USD per night in a hotel. No meals included. Early registration is advisable. Space is limited. ECORA Language institute & Cultural Center will only be responsible for suggesting and / or reserving such accommodations on behalf of the student when he/she desires an alternative housing arrangement.

14.	The weekends (Sat-Sun) of family homestay accommodation before and after study at ECORA Language institute & Cultural Center are included as a courtesy at no extra cost. It advisable to arrive the Saturday before your program starts to get to know your hosts and the city.

15.	Each additional day of family homestay accommodation before or after the free weekends is $22 USD for shared Accommodation when enrolling with a friend or family member, $26 USD Private Accommodation (Private Room + shared bathroom) and $30 USD for Private Plus Accommodation (Private Room and Private Bathroom). Each additional day of A/C will be $5 USD per room.

16.	REGISTRATION AND CANCELATIONS. The registration deposit will be deducted from the final invoice and is non-refundable. It is not an additional cost. 50% refunds for program payment (excluding registration deposit and additional services such as booked excursions) are made when students cancel in writing one week before their Monday start date. Any kind of refunds once the program has started will only take place in the most exceptional cases and only when authorized in writing. All bank charges are paid by the sender

17.	Classes not taken, excursions or cultural field trips missed because of the student being late or not showing up are not made up.

18.	Holidays: Christmas day (Dec.25th) and New Years (Jan 1st) or National and Local holidays in Mexico. Classes will be made up.

19.	Students must adhere to all city, state and country laws during their programs. Common sense is advisable. Mexican laws are very strict when it comes to any illegal drugs.

20.	Student must observe local, family rules and customs. Please download and read our "FAQs" and "Additional Rules for staying with a host family" files.

21.	Students must follow all rules and regulations given to them when participating in Cultural Field trips and Excursions.

22.	All excursions include the option of swimming. If you do not know how to swim please request a life jacket a day in advance or before. Well be happy to provide you with one. We have them at school.

23.	Liability. Neither ECORA Language institute & Cultural Center nor the host families or staff shall be held liable for any injury, loss, death of persons, damage, delay, illness or accident while the student is studying, staying at the host family, participating in cultural field trips, excursions, or using any travel facilities, accommodations or other services in connection with its Spanish Immersion Programs. ECORA cannot be held responsible for changes in scheduling caused by the airlines themselves, flight delays, misconnections of flights, long layover or any expenses related to such delays which are beyond our control. Please note that airlines reserve the right to substitute aircraft and equipment, and flights may make additional

24.	ECORA Language institute & Cultural Center reserves the right to change rates without prior notice and is not responsible for events beyond its control.

25.	Mexico entry requirements. All persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Mexico will be required to present valid passports. Non-U.S. citizens will need to contact the Embassy of Mexico to ensure they meet any other specific entry requirements. How to get a passport? United States citizens can request a passport application form by contacting the National Passport Information Center at (877) 4USA-PPT. Comprehensive passport information and application forms also are available on the U.S. Department of State at: www.travel.state.gov Please note: We suggest that this process be completed well in advance of departure since it normally takes about 6 to 8 weeks to get a stops.

26.	No warranties, representations, terms or conditions apply to any classes, programs, accommodations or tour unless expressly stated within these Terms and Conditions (or in a letter signed by an authorized representative of ECORA Language Institute and Cultural Center).
